Project Management
Protech’s Project Management services help ensure that your project is completed on time, on budget, and on target with your organization’s unique and specific requirements. We’ve developed our strategy for Project Management around eight proven standards developed by the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK): Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk and Procurement.

SCOPE MANAGEMENT
Protech’s Account Executives work with our clients during the early stages of our relationship to gain a complete understanding of your business needs.  We provide a detailed Statement of Work that defines what is and is not included in the project, provides a breakdown of the work to be completed, and defines the change management process.

TIME MANAGEMENT
For your project to be successful, it’s critical that a complete project schedule is created and monitored throughout the life of the project.  Your Project Manager will define, in a complete project schedule, all the activities that will be required to complete your implementation, the resources required from Protech and your project team, estimated activity start and end dates, and ongoing performance reports.

COST MANAGEMENT
Your Project Manager develops a cost baseline by estimating the costs for all the tasks in your project and ensures that the project is completed within the approved budget.  Cost Management also considers how changes to project scope and estimated duration of work will impact the overall budget.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Quality is the ‘degree to which a set of inherent characteristics fulfill requirements.’ Protech incorporates repeatable industry standard software testing protocols to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.   Our implementation methodology is based on early and often client review and acceptance during the configuration and customization process to ensure that requirements are met in a cost effective manner.

HUMAN RESOURCEMANAGEMENT
Human Resources management includes all the activities and processes involved with planning for, acquiring, managing and developing a project team.   The Project Manager will make clear the roles and responsibilities of all the people involved in the project, as well as anyone who has a stake in how the project succeeds.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT
Communications management includes all the activities and processes involved with planning for and conducting communications through the life of the project.  After the human resources roles and responsibilities are defined, the Project Manager will work with the project team to develop a communications plan, which describes when communications will take place, what should be communicated and to whom, and how that communication will take place.

RISK MANAGEMENT
Risk management includes all the activities and processes involved with identifying, documenting, analyzing, responding and monitoring risks that may impact the project.  The Project Manager will work with the project team to create a risk register, which serves as a planning document to mitigate the potential negative impact of risks to the project. This risk register is updated throughout the project life cycle and any changes are communicated to the project team as a result.

PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT
Procurement management for projects in the implementation phase centers on Contract Administration.  This includes activities and processes involved with identifying contract deliverables, and ensuring that project work is determined by terms agreed to by Protech and the client in an executed scope of work.  The Project Manager will identify non-contracted requests and route those requests through a change management process.
